At Lucent Recovery and Wellness, we built something different. We’re a clinician-owned, master’s-level Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) based in Austin, and we proudly serve adults who travel from Irving and the wider Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to access a level of care they can’t find closer to home.
WHO WE SERVE: CONDITIONS WE TREAT
Our team works with adults experiencing a range of mental health and co-occurring challenges, including:
What Is a Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?
An IOP offers a middle ground between weekly therapy and full-time residential care. It provides comprehensive support while allowing you to live at home and continue with everyday responsibilities.
Key Features:
Take the First Step
If you're in Irving and you're ready for care that's genuinely personalized, clinically rigorous, and built around your whole life, we'd love to talk. No referral is needed. Our team will work with you to verify your insurance and answer every question before you commit to anything.
Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the IOP program?
Most clients attend for 8 to 12 weeks, depending on their clinical needs and progress.
Can I keep working or going to school while in the program?
Yes. Our flexible scheduling is designed to accommodate your professional and personal responsibilities.
Do I need a referral to enroll?
No referral is needed. You can contact us directly for a confidential assessment.
Is the program covered by insurance?
Lucent Recovery accepts most major insurance plans. Our team will verify your coverage and walk you through the process before you start.
What makes Lucent different from Irving-area IOP programs?
Our master’s-level-only clinical team, small program size, holistic and experiential programming, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and transitional housing for traveling clients set us apart from the larger hospital-based and franchise programs serving Irving and Las Colinas.
What happens after IOP?
After completing our IOP, many clients continue into our step-down transitional services or move to ongoing individual counseling or coaching with their clinician.
My work travel has made consistent therapy impossible for years. Is IOP different?
The structure is the difference. Instead of fitting sessions around a schedule that keeps changing, you set aside a defined period and treatment becomes the thing everything else works around. For people who have started and abandoned outpatient therapy several times, that shift in framing tends to matter more than any specific modality.
How easy is it to get to Austin from Irving?
DFW Airport is on Irving’s doorstep and flights to Austin take under an hour, though most clients find driving simpler at roughly three hours. If you’re using our transitional housing, you’re making that trip at the beginning and end of your program rather than repeatedly.
Will I be able to step out for an important call or meeting?
Occasionally, and we’ll talk about what’s realistic during your assessment. Group programming runs on a set schedule and interrupting it undercuts the work, both for you and the people in the room. Most clients find that setting a clear boundary with their employer up front is easier than negotiating it week by week.
