Your Journey to Healing Begins Here

Master-Level Mental Health IOP for Adults Traveling from Frisco, TX

At Lucent Recovery and Wellness, we built something different. We’re a clinician-owned, master’s-level Mental Health Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) based in Austin, and we proudly serve adults who travel from Frisco and the wider Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex to access a level of care they can’t find closer to home.

WHY FRISCO RESIDENTS CHOOSE LUCENT

Frisco has grown faster than almost anywhere in the country, and the infrastructure is still catching up in places you’d expect it to and some you wouldn’t. New neighborhoods, new schools, new retail. Specialty behavioral health hasn’t scaled at the same pace. We talk to people here who assumed the availability of care would match everything else around them, then found waitlists and a narrow range of options once they started looking. Growing quickly doesn’t automatically produce depth, and that gap is felt most by people who need something more structured than weekly therapy.

For those making the trip from Frisco, we also offer transitional housing in Austin so you can immerse yourself in the program without worrying about logistics.

WHAT IS A MENTAL HEALTH IOP?

An Intensive Outpatient Program sits between weekly individual therapy and full-time residential care. It’s designed for adults who need more structured support than a single weekly session can provide, but who don’t require 24-hour inpatient monitoring.

Who benefits most from IOP?

If you’re managing a mental health condition that’s affecting your relationships, your work, or your ability to function day to day, and you’re ready to do real work on it with consistent clinical support, IOP is likely the right level of care.

WHO WE SERVE: CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Frequently Asked Questions

Mental health IOP for adults traveling from Frisco, Texas

How long is the IOP program?

Most clients attend for 8 to 12 weeks, depending on their clinical needs and progress.

Can I keep working or going to school while in the program?

Yes. Our flexible scheduling is designed to accommodate your professional and personal responsibilities.

Do I need a referral to enroll?

No referral is needed. You can contact us directly for a confidential assessment.

Is the program covered by insurance?

Lucent Recovery accepts most major insurance plans. Our team will verify your coverage and walk you through the process before you start.

What makes Lucent different from Frisco-area IOP programs?

Our master’s-level-only clinical team, small program size, holistic and experiential programming, LGBTQIA+ affirming care, and transitional housing for traveling clients set us apart from the larger hospital-based and franchise programs serving Frisco and northern Collin County.

What happens after IOP?

After completing our IOP, many clients continue into our step-down transitional services or move to ongoing individual counseling or coaching with their clinician.

I've been on a waitlist locally for weeks. How quickly can I start with you?

Timelines depend on assessment and capacity, so we won’t promise a date on a web page. What we will do is give you a straight answer during your first call rather than adding you to a list and going quiet. If we can’t accommodate you in a reasonable window, we’ll tell you that too.

My partner and I both moved here for work and we don't have family nearby. Does that make treatment harder?

It makes the practical side harder and it makes the clinical side more important. Isolation is a genuine risk factor, and one of the things a group-based program provides is a peer community you don’t have to build from scratch. Our case management team also helps clients think through support once the program ends.

Is IOP only for people who've already tried therapy and failed?

No. Level of care is about how much structure your situation calls for, not about having exhausted other options first. Some people come to us after years of weekly therapy and some come without ever having seen a clinician. The assessment is where we figure out what actually fits.

Section 6A - Making the Trip | Lucent Frisco IOP

Getting Here

Making the Trip from Frisco to Austin

Frisco sits at the northern edge of the metroplex, so it's a little over three hours to Austin by car, generally via the Dallas North Tollway to I-35E or 130. Flights out of DFW are short if you'd rather not drive.

The comparison is closer than people assume

Frisco is far enough north that even crossing to a program in south Dallas is a real commitment. One example of how that adds up.

WHY CHOOSE LUCENT OVER FRISCO-AREA PROGRAMS

We’re not going to tell you that every program near Frisco is wrong for you. What we will say is that Lucent offers something specific that many DFW-area programs don’t:

CLINICIAN-OWNED

We’re not a hospital network or a multi-state franchise. Every decision about how we run our program comes from the clinicians who actually do the work.

ALL MASTER'S-LEVEL CLINICIANS

This isn’t just a marketing phrase for us. Every therapist you work with holds a master’s degree in a mental health discipline.

TRULY PERSONALIZED

Our assessments are comprehensive. Your treatment plan is built for you, revisited regularly, and adjusted as you grow.

TRANSITIONAL HOUSING OPTION

For Frisco clients, this changes everything. You can fully immerse in treatment without commuting or navigating a city alone.

HOLISTIC AND EXPERIENTIAL

No other program in the region pairs DBT and trauma therapy with mountain biking and outdoor programming. We believe the body and the environment are part of the healing process.
