Lucent Recovery and Wellness publishes articles for adults and families in Austin who are trying to understand mental health care and decide what comes next. This page explains who writes that content, who reviews it, and how we keep it accurate.
Who writes our articles
Articles are written by the Lucent Recovery and Wellness editorial team: Lucent staff working with our content partners, guided by the clinical team. Bylines read “Written by the Lucent Recovery and Wellness editorial team” so that no individual is credited with words they did not write.
Who reviews them
Every article that discusses symptoms, diagnosis, treatment or levels of care is clinically reviewed by a licensed member of our clinical leadership. Our reviewer of record is Chris Hudson, MA, LPC, LCDC, founder and executive director of Lucent. The reviewer checks clinical accuracy, safety language and whether the article describes Lucent’s programs as they actually run. The review date appears in each article’s byline. When a reviewer asks for changes, we make them and update the article’s “Updated” date.
Statements from our team
Some articles include statements from named members of our team. Each statement is attributed to that person with their credentials and role, and is shared with them for approval.
How we source information
- Statistics and clinical facts come from primary sources: federal and state health agencies such as the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and SAMHSA, peer-reviewed research, local public health bodies and established newsrooms.
- Every statistic links to its source in the text, and each article ends with a numbered list of sources.
- We do not cite competitors, anonymous blogs or content aggregators.
What our articles are not
Our articles are for general education. They are not a diagnosis, a treatment plan or a promise of any outcome. If you or someone you love is in crisis, call or text 988 to reach the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911 in an emergency.
Updates and corrections
We review articles when guidance changes, when a source is updated and when readers or clinicians point out something we can do better. If you see an error, please tell us through our contact page and we will look at it promptly.
